The international community is rallying behind efforts to revitalize the war against al-Shabaab militants in order to hasten achieving an ever lasting peace in Somalia and its ultimate reconstruction.
Experts say that liberating Somalia from the crippling shackles of al-Shabaab and its violence is the first step to stabilize and that more efforts are required in order to completely wipe it out of Somalia.
These efforts are fully supported by a majority of the Somali community and the group’s days are numbered. Terror group al-Shabaab is an enemy to the Somali community, their peaceful living and their development at large.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government of Somalia is urging the Somali community to fight terror group al-Shabaab in any way that it can for the group has proven to be the enemy of the Somali community. Somali president Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed (Farmajo) has described the terror group as a group that is determined to make sure it denied the Somali community peace and development.
Earlier this week, an AU envoy noted that targeted airstrikes and enhanced intelligence gathering has dealt a huge blow to al-Shabaab as evidenced by deaths and defections of senior commanders. He predicted that the group will not exist for long. The top envoy called on regional states in Somalia to intensify the war against terrorist group Al-Shabaab.
