As we remember al-Shabaab victims, lets stand up for what is right

The murderous group al-Shabaab is continuing to commit heinous and despicable crimes against innocent lives. Exactly one year ago, the terminable group planned and orchestrated the worst single attack on innocent civilians in Somalia’s civil war history where over 500 innocent lives were lost.

It is an attack that proves how the blood-sucking group al-Shabaab aims at massacring and exterminating the Somali population. Apart from more than 500 people losing their lives, over 1000 people were wounded and 200 are still unaccounted for. Property and businesses worth 6.3 million dollars and close to 2000 people’s lives were affected in one way or another.

More than 2000 children were orphaned by the attack among them 962 who are under the age of 18 and most of them are still under the care of the Somali government. As the Somali people remember those who lost their lives in the worst attack carried by the murderous group on the 14th of October 2017 on innocent civilians, the country needs to come together in defeating the common enemy al-Shabaab.

Locals flee al-Shabaab atrocities

Families fleeing al-Shabaab atrocities were met by the Somali National Army in Danane village where the army provided them food and temporary shelter.
They said they fled from atrocities committed against them by the murderous group in nearby towns adding they were specifically targeted because they belonged to a minority tribe.

They expressed happiness in the army’s hospitality and the subsequent rescue provided by Somali National Army (SNA) and they urged the army to kick al-Shabaab out of the towns they fled. The families revealed how the murderous group al-Shabaab treats people and the atrocities it’s committing against the Somali people and begged SNA to liberate their town.

Somali National Army is doubling its efforts to kick out the terror group off Somalia and there are ongoing operations across the country to achieve that.

Jamame town liberated from the shackles of Al-Shabaab

The Somali National Army (SNA) together with Jubbaland forces have kicked al-Shabaab out of Jamame town in Lower Jubba, freeing locals from the shackles, atrocities and cruelties of the murderous group.

In an early morning operation, SNA and its allies successfully and completely took control of the town and the villages in its outskirts.Among the areas SNA liberated from al-Shabaab are Bangini, Mana, Mufo and Koban all under the jurisdiction of Jamame town.

The terrorist group was ousted from major towns in south and central Somalia for the past years and the remaining villages still under its shackles will soon be liberated.
