Al-Shabaab abandons bases in Mudug region

Terror group al-Shabaab has abandoned its bases in towns under Mudug region, according to military officials. Somali National Army (SNA) officers have told reporters that al-Shabaab members fled their bases in Deklo and Marale towns after several airstrikes were conducted in the area.

According to locals, the members fled and abandoned their bases out of fear from the relentless bombardments by SNA and its allies. The said towns are now considered liberated.

The murderous group al-Shabaab has been waging attacks on innocent civilians in Mudug and those attacks were planned in the newly liberated towns.
