The murderous group has yet again received another blow after at least four of its bases were destroyed in a raid launched by the Somali National Army helped by its allies in Barire District in Lower Shabelle region.
The bases were previously used by the blood-sucking group to plan heinous attacks against innocent civilians. The raid also saw the killing of four senior al-Shabaab commanders.
Somali National Army Chief Operation Commander General Abdullahi Ali Anod has disclosed the names of some of Al-Shabaab’s senior fighters killed in the raid. He said the raid targeted Al-Shabaab bases near Bariire.
The SNA Commander named three senior Al-Shabaab members as Khalif Mohamed Warsame (Khalif Cadale), Yusuf Moalim Abdalla and Muse Ali Gabow. The terror group al-Shabaab is facing desperate times financially and internal wrangles over who will lead the group have escalated the existing crisis.
According to security officials, Somali commandos have also seized three men thought to be commanders with the Al-Shabaab extremist group during the deadly raid. A Somali security official said the forces targeted a key hideout and coordination center for al-Shabaab.
